March MadnessMarch 16, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the gymnasium.
Trinity’s March Madness is a fellowship event that brings together the SPARK! after school program and our church membership. Reflecting the time of year and Springfield’s basketball heritage, the evening will involve several basketball-themed activities. Kicking things off will be a demonstration by Springfield College students of basketball as it was played when first invented in Springfield in the late 19th century. Then, a skills competition will be held to let attendees show off their skills in dribbling, free throw shooting, and layups. Following that, a full-court game of basketball will be played, complete with half-time entertainment. Refreshments will be provided, and all are welcome to participate or cheer on competitors throughout the night. We hope to see you there!
Donations will be accepted, with all proceeds going to support the SPARK! program. SPARK! is an after school program for middle school students, mostly from Forest Park Middle School. It provides a safe haven daily for attendees to do homework, work with mentors, participate in art and music projects, and burn off energy through physical activities. SPARK! is sponsored by Urban Potential, a 501c3 non-profit associated with Trinity Church.
