Arm in Arm: Artists United Against Gun Violence concert at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m.  Details available here.

Church School for children, youth, and adults at 9:00 a.m.  (Details can be found on each linked page)

Greek Class will meet at 9:00 a.m.

The 10:30 a.m. worship service with Communion in the Sanctuary will be followed by fellowship in Asbury Hall.  During the worship service we will celebrate All Saints Day.  Details of this service can be found on page 6 of the Carillon.

Sign up at the Connection Point during fellowship to contribute to Thanksgiving baskets for our neighbors in need.

Bible Story Time meets during the worship service (following the Children’s Moment) for children ages 4-6 in the Bible Story Time room, next to the Nursery. There, a staff member leads the children in a time of reading, playing games, making art projects, singing, and praying. This program helps children learn the stories of the Bible.

Youth Fellowship beginning with dinner at 5:30 p.m.  Details for YF can be found on the youth page.

 

November 7

The Prayer and Discernment group will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Primary Room.

The Mobile Food Bank of the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts will be in the parking lot from 2:00 to 2:45 p.m. distributing food to residents of the neighborhood.  Volunteers are needed between 1:30 and 3:15 p.m. to assist with set-up and clean-up.  New volunteers are always welcome.

 

November 10

Annual Justice for Our Neighbors (JFON) dinner and Silent Auction from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Asbury Hall.  Join us for an evening of fellowship, great food, fun and celebration of this ministry which provides legal services, advocacy and education for immigrants and provides congregation and community members with transformative ways to serve, share, connect and grow.

Sign up at the Connection Point during fellowship to contribute to Thanksgiving baskets for our neighbors in need.  Items needed include:  potatoes, stuffing, gravy, pies, cranberry sauce, turkey, and vegetables.  Items should be delivered to the church on Saturday, November 17.

Also sign up at the Connection Point to purchase a Christmas gift for the Angel Tree Prison Fellowship project.  Angel Tree connects parents in prison with their children through delivery of Chistmas gifts goven on the parent's behalf.

Chapel Kids is an optional worship service designed for children in elementary school, ages 7 and up, designed to help children deepen their faith by interacting with each other, praying, singing, and creating. Chapel Kids is offered during the sermon portion of worship (following the middle hymn) and is located in the chapel.

November 18  Thanksgiving Sunday

Worshipping with Your Child - November 18 from 9 to 10 a.m. in Vincent Hall. The Christian Education and Formation Committee is offering a one-time workshop for parents or grandparents who worship with children age 3 through grade 5 by their side. You will learn some ideas to help your child learn to worship, not just be quiet, while still feeling like you've worshipped. Their will also be a sharing time for brainstorming additional ideas with other parents. Coffee and light refreshments will be served. Registration is invited, but not required. To sign up, please come to the church school welcome table near the classrooms.

The 10:30 a.m. worship service in the sanctuary will be followed by fellowship in Asbury Hall.  The altar will be decorated with fall vegetables that will be donated to the Thanksgiving baskets following the service.

Thanksgiving baskets will be collated prior to worship service.

The Women's Book Club will meet at 7:00 p.m. at the parsonage, 204 Pondview Dr. in Springfield. Our November book is Being Mortal by Atul Gawande. About the book: "Medicine has triumphed in modern times, transforming the dangers of childbirth, injury, and disease from harrowing to manageable. But when it comes to the inescapable realities of aging and death, what medicine can do often runs counter to what it should. Through eye-opening research and gripping stories of his own patients and family, Gawande reveals the suffering this dynamic has produced."  New members are welcome to join.
