COVID Updates

COVID-19 UPDATE – Trinity United Methodist Church

We have learned over the last several years that dealing with a global pandemic, while ensuring the safety of our community, is an ever-changing proposition. As a result, our protocols for in-person worship and other activities have adjusted according to current advice from local, state, and federal officials.

The Trinity COVID-19 Ad hoc Committee (TCAC) last met on August 15, 2022, to continue discussions surrounding COVID-19, including the latest updates to CDC guidance that have been published. At this time, no significant changes are warranted in Trinity’s plans for worship services or general operations. TCAC will continue to monitor CDC data and recommendations at both the national and regional level.

Trinity is a diverse and inclusive community, and all are welcome to participate in our worship services and other gatherings. For some, joining our services in a virtual format (either via live-stream or viewing the recording asynchronously) may be the best fit for their health and well-being. Others may feel more comfortable attending an in-person service, and some may choose to wear a mask to protect themselves and others. As always, we will continue to be sensitive and respectful to the concerns of others; our commitment to each other remains at the core of what we do.

For the last several years we have found a variety of ways to connect with each other and maintain a community of faith. We trust that our congregation will continue to work together to maintain a strong congregation and to follow the recommendations of our leadership to keep everyone safe.

Since this is an ever changing situation, please check back frequently for updates to our policies and protocols. Any decisions made by the leadership team will be posted on the church’s website: www.trinityspringfield.org

For our friends and members who are not yet ready to return to in-person worship, we will still be offering the live stream of the worship service, and a recording of the service will be available and can be accessed on our On Line Worship page.

Sincerely,

Trinity COVID-19 Ad Hoc Committee (TCAC)
